Dr Ezan is the Medical Director of Platinum Occupational Health Ltd and a Consultant in Occupational Medicine. He has been a qualified doctor since 2002 and listed on the General Medical Council as an accredited Specialist in Occupational Medicine since 2014.
Dr Ezan completed his primary medical degree in Ghana in 2002. His first connection with occupational health was in 2004 when he worked for 6 months in the company hospital of a large multinational gold mining firm operating in Ghana, West Africa.
His initial rotations in the UK from 2005 were mainly in General Medicine, Surgery and Accident & Emergency working in London, Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle, Northumberland and North Wales. Whilst in hospital medicine, he worked in Cardiology, Elderly Medicine, Haematology, Respiratory Medicine, Oncology, Neurology and Spinal Injuries.
He started the Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health in Cardiff University in 2007 whilst doing hospital medicine for 2 years. He then went on to complete the Masters programme in occupational health at the same University in 2012.
Whilst engaged in his occupational health studies, he also completed his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in January 2010 and was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in May 2010 as a member.
Dr Ezan began specialist training in occupational medicine in the South West England in 2010 whilst working in the NHS and with a Commercial Provider in Plymouth, Exeter and Truro.
After becoming a Member of Faculty of Occupational Medicine (MFOM) in August 2014, he started work with a commercial provider in occupational health based in Plymouth and then later in Bristol.
His portfolio of occupational health experience includes NHS, private sector and public sector clients including: Police Work (Force Medical Advisor and Selected Medical Practitioner), Brigade Medical Advisor for the Fire Service, Ill Health Retirements for the Police, Fire Service, NHS, Local Government and Private Sector Pensions.
Other experience includes Hand Arm Vibration Assessments, Health Surveillance and Pre-Placement Assessments.
He is also an HSE appointed doctor for Lead, Ionising Radiation and Asbestos. Dr Ezan is Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) certified and has a Medical Review Officer (MRO) status for Drug and Alcohol Screening. Dr Ezan has a Certificate in Occupational Health Law from Glasgow Caledonian University and the At Work Partnership obtained in 2012.
He is currently an examiner for the Irish Diploma in Occupational Medicine portfolio (LFOM) exam and Faculty of Occupational Medicine diploma exam (DOccMed).
Dr Ezan is the Deputy Regional Specialty Advisor in the Oxford Region for the Faculty of Occupational Medicine and a Member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM).
